An Evening of Chant with Noelle and Steve
July 18th, 7:15PM-9PM

Noelle Whittington and Steve Cole will be pairing up to provide a heart felt Kirtan experience. While both have been chanting for years in separate endeavors, this will be their first time sharing call and response chanting together. With harmonium, guitar, harmonies, and open hearts we all will chant the holy names to share this ancient, uplifting practice.

JoEL Karabo Elliott is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, poet-philosopher, artist-educator, death doula, musical ecologist and guiding curator of the world music ensemble Roots Grown Deep (with hubs in Southern Africa, Turtle Island and Brazil). He has performed and facilitated in 17 countries globally and helps people of all ages to awaken spiritually through discovery of their inner music, voice and boundless identity. JoEL's live performances draw audiences into a participatory, worldly-cosmic journey of "traveling light without moving", combining deep introspection with poetry and dynamic songs which exude his multicultural and multilingual fluency. JoEL is a musical doula and founding member of the Emberlight Center for Conscious LIving & Dying (Swannanoa, NC), holds an M.A. in Consciousness & Human Potential (MIU), and is pioneering an Ecoversity or apprenticeship based higher education program called The Fellowship of Musical Ecology. We'll be meeting on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 5pm for around two hours to discuss the Plejaren Diaries book series, with spoilers! So plan to have read Book 1 by the start of this event.

Most of her teas come from her family, but in some cases they are sourced from other farms that are all organic. Violet is truly passionate about teas and has a wide breadth of knowledge.

Tea is more than a drink—it’s a way to experience landscapes, forests, and cultures through your senses. During this guided tasting, I’ll brew a selection of teas using the traditional gongfu method while sharing their origins, stories, and what makes each one unique. Whether you’re completely new to tea or already enjoy it, you’re invited to simply relax, taste, and explore.

We will begin with a quick overview of Chris' Bledsoe's book, UFO of God, and the Bledsoe Said So community. Then open it up to sharing our own experiences, themes and resources about the phenomena. This event is not limited to only sharing about UFO experiencers; sharing can include all paranormal experiences as well.

We have found the more we share our stories, experiences and resources, the more magic, synchronicities, and mind blowing connections that arise. We are sharing in and building a community of like-minded people coming together to awaken the world at this time, and all that is required is that you just show up.

Molly Chopin is a Raleigh-based painter whose work explores the intersection of science and spirituality, and the healing and evolutionary pathways that arise from this meeting point. Her artistic journey began 13 years ago, when painting became a way to access spirit and reclaim her voice after surviving domestic abuse. From that turning point emerged a guiding truth in her practice: art heals.

Through vibrant colors, layered symbolism, and intuitive forms, Molly creates paintings that spark moments of recognition inviting viewers into deeper connection with their own spirit, with one another, and with the living intelligence of the Earth.

If you need some musical meditation, come chant with us the 2nd Saturday of the month, at Oasis. Samadhi’s Rangadevi Dasi will lead a community Kirtan, accompanied by friends, old & new.

Doors open at 7:15 p.m., and the chanting starts at 7:30! The cafe closes during the performance, which starts at 7:30 p.m. The event is free, but donations are graciously accepted by cash or Venmo.

What is Kirtan?

Although the term kirtan is originally from India, we celebrate traditions from around the world that foster community gatherings centered around devotional call and response singing. Kirtan transforms the spirit, bringing us together, unifying our hearts and voices, sharing in the spirit. Because kirtan requires participation, WE NEED YOU!
