Join us for our monthly UFO of God meet up at Oasis Botanical Lounge! This meet up with focus on sharing in all capacities. We will begin with a quick overview of Chris' Bledsoe's book, UFO of God, and the Bledsoe Said So community. Then open it up to sharing our own experiences, themes and resources about the phenomena. We have found the more we share our stories, experiences and resources, the more magic, synchronicities, and mind blowing connections that arise. We are sharing in and building a community of like-minded people coming together to awaken the world at this time, and all that is required is that you just show up.

Heart Songs Kirtan 

Join Darren Marc Levene and Noelle Whittington for a heart-opening evening of Kirtan. Rooted in the tradition of Bhakti Yoga, the yoga of love and devotion, Kirtan invites us to sing mantras that awaken inner-peace, joy, and the essence of our true spirit. No experience is necessary. Just bring your presence and an open heart. Together, we'll step in the 'bhav' (the mood of devotion) and unite in joyful singing and community connection. 

Bios

Darren Marc Levene is a kirtan artist who shares heart-centered devotional music at yoga studios, retreats, and festivals. His kirtans create a welcoming and uplifting space where everyone can participate, regardless of musical experience, and experience the joy of singing and connecting in community.

Noelle Whittington is an international yoga teacher, kirtan musician, and bhakti yogi known for weaving together mantra, music, and movement into deeply heart-centered experiences. A full-time instructor since 2006, she integrates vocal expression, harmonium, and devotional chanting into her offerings, guiding students toward greater freedom, connection, and self-expression.

Join the Oasis Carrboro Monthly Improv Meetup Group for a night of laughter and fun! Wednesday nights at 7pm at Oasis Botanical Lounge.

This is an informal evening dedicated to playing improv games that will make you laugh til your face hurts, get you out of your head and into the moment, and bring joy to all our lives.

No experience needed but you will be expected to participate in at least one game if you join! New games are always welcomed!

If you need some musical meditation, come chant with us on June 6th, but typically the 2nd Saturday of the month, at Oasis. Samadhi’s Rangadevi Dasi will lead a community kirtan, accompanied by friends, old & new.

Doors open at 7:15 p.m., and the chanting starts at 7:30! The cafe closes during the performance, which starts at 7:30 p.m. The event is free, but donations are graciously accepted by cash or Venmo.

What is Kirtan?

Although the term kirtan is originally from India, we celebrate traditions from around the world that foster community gatherings centered around devotional call and response singing. Kirtan transforms the spirit, bringing us together, unifying our hearts and voices, sharing in the spirit. Because kirtan requires participation, WE NEED YOU!

Join us for our second Tertulia Literaria in Spanish! In English it would be like a Literary Open Mic. Inviting people from the Hispanic community and bilingual people to share poetry, stories, songs, comedy, reflections and more. ALL IN SPANISH.

Hosted by the Cuban author Anechy Padron with the participation of other local authors. We invite anybody who loves literature to come with an open heart to listen and debate literature.

Andrew Ragsdale is a Harp Guitarist, Guitarist and singer-songwriter based out of Raleigh, NC performing folk and contemporary instrumental music at National and International venues. He is well regarded as an accomplished American Fingerstyle, American roots and Alternative Acoustic Instrumental artist.

Andrew’s style is a fusion of older American styles and more modern approaches to acoustic instruments. Andrew Performed as a Cultural Ambassador representing the United States of America at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan at the USA Pavilion for large audiences as part of a multi-month artist residency and has completed dozens of regional and national tours extensively throughout the United States as a multi-instrumentalist for over 30 years. Performing and meeting new people everywhere through sharing his artistry is a cornerstone of Andrew’s musical career.

Come, sing in a welcoming, inclusive, uplifting circle of seekers. No experience or comfort with singing necessary. Kelly will share short, simple heart-medicine songs that we will learn and sing together as a group. Singing in this way is not about sounding pretty or hitting all the right notes. It’s about expression, connection, and devotion. It is moving energy. It is a way of finding resonance and co-regulation, especially important and needed in these heavy, often-isolating times.

This will be a very slow moving class focused on lengthening, opening, and releasing muscles, ligaments, and fascia. Each pose will be held from 30-seconds to 3-minutes for maximum release. Alicia will come around and assist during the class to help move you deeper into the poses. You may opt out of assisting at any time. This class is for all-levels and poses can be adjusted for all body types. See you on the mat!
